The Neighborhood ... is amazing overall. NextDoor, the HOA, Gazette, and main stream social media are better ways the community communicates. This is just place for focusing on fun and not so serious stuff. Let's let the other sites handle the more difficult stuff. The advantage of this site; it's totally about the neighborhood and its neighbors. There's no third-party interference to start, giving it a better chance to be independent.
